Q. Is there a way to remove the DCO (Device Configuration Overlay) and/or HPA (Host Protected Area) from a disk?

A. Yes, navigate to Customize->Interface->Pre-Erasure Events and select ATA Resizing (DCO/HPA). Turn that feature ON and hit the update button. Any SATA device that has a DCO or HPA will now have it removed before the erasure starts.
