Q.  Why does the status of some drives show up as “tampered”?

A.  The logs were modified somehow.  The most likely cause is related to the connection to the disk(s) being multipathed.  Check the cabling and ensure only 1 connection is made from the system controlling the erasure to the disk enclosure.  Also ensure no one else is attempting to erase the same disks at the same time.
